Aventura is one of South Florida's premier luxury condo markets, with high-rise residences stretching along Biscayne Boulevard from the Williams Island guard gate north to the Hallandale Beach line. Many of our Aventura clients own a primary residence here and a second home elsewhere, often in Manhattan, the Hamptons, the Berkshires, Aspen, or somewhere in Europe. Long-distance moves from Aventura accordingly fall into two categories. The first is a permanent relocation, often a retirement reversal where a family moves north or west to be closer to children or grandchildren. The second is a seasonal shipment, sending furniture, art, wardrobe, or wine collections to or from a second residence twice a year. After 30 years moving South Florida, Wadjet Logistics structures every Aventura long-distance move around the specific protocols of luxury condo logistics and the higher standard our clientele expects.
The buildings we work in regularly include Porto Vita, Williams Island, Turnberry Ocean Colony, the Peninsula, One Island Place, Hamptons South, Bella Mare, and the many towers along North Country Club Drive and Biscayne Boulevard from 192nd through 213th streets. Each has its own protocols. Some require five-figure refundable security deposits, others require concierge-managed access, some restrict moves to specific weekday windows, and the most stringent require an attorney letter from the homeowner authorizing the move along with detailed crew lists. We have files on every major Aventura building and our office handles all the building-side paperwork.
The international dimension of Aventura is also worth understanding. A significant share of Aventura residents are dual citizens or maintain residences in Latin America, Europe, and the Middle East. Long-distance moves from Aventura sometimes involve coordination with international shipping (ocean container packed in Aventura for delivery to Madrid or Tel Aviv), with U.S. customs documentation, and with destination carriers in multiple countries. We handle the U.S.-side logistics for these moves and coordinate with established international freight forwarders for the ocean and customs portions.
Federal interstate framework
Long-distance moves are governed by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA). Wadjet Logistics holds USDOT 4892731 and operates as a fully licensed motor carrier. We provide every client with FMCSA's "Your Rights and Responsibilities When You Move" booklet at the estimate appointment. Federal law requires interstate movers to offer at least two estimate types: binding (the price you sign is the price you pay) and non-binding (the price can go up or down based on actual weight). For our Aventura clientele we recommend binding estimates because they remove uncertainty, and we lock the price after an in-home or virtual walk-through.
Where Aventura clients are moving
Our most common interstate destinations from Aventura are Manhattan and the surrounding tri-state area, Greenwich and Westchester County, the Hamptons in summer, Aspen and Vail in winter, Atlanta's Buckhead neighborhood, Houston's River Oaks, Beverly Hills and Bel Air in Los Angeles, and Nashville's higher-end neighborhoods like Belle Meade. For Manhattan and tri-state moves we maintain relationships with white-glove Manhattan movers who handle the destination side and coordinate with their buildings' (often even stricter) protocols. The cooperation between origin and destination crews is the difference between a smooth move and a chaotic one for clients who require precision.
High-value content handling
The contents of an Aventura condo often include significant art, jewelry, watches, designer wardrobe, and wine collections. We approach these contents with specific protocols.
Art and sculpture
For paintings, sculptures, photographs, and other artwork valued above $5,000 per piece we build custom crates on site using plywood lined with foam cut to the dimensions of each object. For pieces valued above $25,000 we engage a dedicated fine art transporter and coordinate with appraisers and conservators if needed. We never ship museum-grade art in a standard moving truck. For contemporary art collections we sometimes coordinate directly with the gallery the work was purchased from, since many galleries maintain their own shipping protocols and insurance.
Wine collections
For wine collections of more than 100 bottles, especially during summer months, we use refrigerated transport from origin to destination. Bottles are inventoried, packed in foam-lined cases or original wood crates, and tracked through transit with chain-of-custody documentation. For collections of more than 1,000 bottles we typically coordinate with a specialty wine logistics partner who maintains certified temperature and humidity control throughout transit and provides certification documentation acceptable to insurance carriers.
Watches, jewelry, and small valuables
We strongly recommend you transport jewelry, watches, and small valuables yourself in a hand-carried locked case. Our cargo insurance specifically excludes items below a certain size unless declared in writing, photographed, and covered under separate high-value coverage at an additional premium. For most Aventura clients this means flying with your most valuable pieces rather than shipping them. For watch collections specifically, many of our clients use Brink's or Malca-Amit for separate insured transport.
Logistics from a high-rise building
Loading from a 30th, 40th, or 50th floor condo takes time. Freight elevators are often single-cab, requiring 100 trips up and down for a 4,000 square foot condo. Dock space at most Aventura buildings is limited to one or two trucks, which means scheduling matters. We typically reserve a full-day elevator window for any condo over 2,500 square feet, and we plan crew rotation so loading runs continuously without breaks slowing the move. For penthouse units we send a senior crew chief who has worked in your specific building before. The combination of long elevator distance, narrow service corridors, and dock space constraints means that timing matters more for high-rise loads than for ground-level homes.
Pricing for Aventura long-distance moves
A 1,500 square foot Aventura condo (roughly 5,000 to 6,500 pounds) shipping to the Northeast typically runs $7,000 to $11,500 with standard service. A 3,000 square foot condo (10,000 to 14,000 pounds) typically runs $14,000 to $22,000 to the Northeast or West Coast. Add full-replacement-value protection ($0.75 to $1.50 per $100 of declared value), full-service packing ($1,500 to $5,000 depending on size and contents), and custom crating ($150 to $600 per crated piece). We provide flat-rate binding estimates after an in-home walk-through.
Multi-stop delivery for clients with multiple residences
Many Aventura clients are moving items to or from a second residence rather than executing a complete household relocation. The shipment might split: some items going to a Manhattan pied-a-terre, others to a Hamptons summer home, others into climate-controlled storage in New York for use elsewhere later. We structure routes for these complex deliveries and provide a master inventory that tracks every item to its destination. For clients managing three or four residences, this kind of structured logistics is the only practical way to move household goods without losing track of what went where.
Concierge services and household staff coordination
Most Aventura luxury condo residents have either building concierge services or private household staff (housekeepers, personal assistants, sometimes private chefs or estate managers) who participate in coordinating a move. We work directly with these staff members when the client prefers, providing them with detailed inventories, schedules, and the kind of communication a household manager needs to keep the move on track. For clients who travel frequently and may not be physically present during pack or move days, the household staff coordination is often essential, and we structure our communications accordingly.
Documentation for tax and estate purposes
Many Aventura clients have significant assets and need detailed move documentation for tax, insurance, and estate planning purposes. We provide comprehensive inventories with photographs, declared values for high-value items, and chain-of-custody documentation for wine, art, and other specialty contents. These documents support insurance updates, tax basis records for art and antiques being relocated to states with different tax treatments, and estate planning records that document where significant assets are physically located. Our coordinators work with clients' financial advisors and accountants when the level of documentation requires that kind of cross-professional coordination.
Insurance and high-value coverage
For Aventura long-distance moves with substantial high-value contents, the insurance structure is more complex than a typical interstate move. We coordinate with your existing insurance broker to ensure coverage continuity during transit, and we offer full-replacement-value protection through our underwriter for contents not otherwise covered. For very high-value items where the declared value runs into the millions, we structure separate coverage with specialty carriers like Chubb Fine Art, AXA Art, or DeWitt Stern. The coverage layering is something we discuss at the estimate appointment so it is in place well before pickup.
Tracking and communication during transit
For Aventura clients, we provide proactive updates throughout transit including GPS tracking on dedicated-truck shipments, daily status calls if requested, and a single dedicated coordinator from quote through delivery. For clients traveling between residences during the move period, we coordinate through preferred communication channels (email, text, phone calls scheduled around time zone differences if you're abroad). The continuity matters: you always know who to call and that person knows your situation.
Coordinating with international tax and legal advisors
For Aventura clients with international ties, long-distance moves sometimes intersect with international tax planning, residency questions, and asset location strategy. While we are not tax or legal advisors, we provide the move documentation that your tax attorneys, accountants, and financial advisors need to support their work: comprehensive inventories with photographs, declared values, dated bills of lading, and chain-of-custody records for high-value contents. The documentation supports tax basis records, asset location records for estate planning, and any insurance updates that result from the relocation.
Booking and coordination
Call +1 (305) 970-6538 or email info@wadjetlogistics.com. We respond within two business hours. For Aventura long-distance moves we recommend six to ten weeks of lead time, particularly during May, June, and September when both seasonal and permanent relocations spike. We coordinate directly with your building manager and your destination contact and provide a single point of contact through delivery.
